Source Bakery was started by Julie White in 2019 when she began working out of a shared kitchen space and participating in farmers’ markets, pop ups & catering events. After many years of working in restaurants, bakeries & cafes, Julie felt moved to step away from the very popular, fast-casual, chain restaurant concepts & focus on something much smaller. She knew that she wanted to open a business that’s primary focus was to support the local agriculture of New England & build relationships with the community around her.

After a few short years, Source opened our first brick & mortar at 3 Duncan St. in Gloucester and expanded our menu to include breakfast & lunch options, as well as coffee and espresso. We continue to use locally grown ingredients in all that we do, staying true to our original mission. We love our home here in Gloucester & are thrilled to have become a part of the community here.
